PTFET

PTFET PTFE Membrane Filter Cartridge

Hydrophilic and hydrophobic media directions make it easier to match the cartridge to the fluid’s wetting behavior.

Product overview

A PTFE membrane pleated cartridge available in hydrophilic and hydrophobic directions, subject to application review.

Product features

Hydrophilic and hydrophobic media directions make it easier to match the cartridge to the fluid’s wetting behavior.

Series
PTFET
Selection priorities
Media, rating basis, length, end fitting, seal, differential pressure and replacement conditions

Working principle

PTFET retains particles through PTFE membrane. Hydrophilic and hydrophobic versions wet differently and must be identified first.

Construction & flow path

PTFE membrane, support, ends and seals form the pleated cartridge. The membrane's material direction does not replace whole-element compatibility checks.

Applications & filtration duty

Review liquid and gas/vent duties separately. For aqueous liquids with hydrophobic PTFE, confirm wetting procedures and the intended duty.

Technical parameters

Use these specifications for selection. Materials, dimensions and operating conditions follow the selected model and agreed specification.

Materials & construction

Filter media

Hydrophilic or hydrophobic PTFE membrane; PP inner and outer supports.

Construction & fabrication

Pleated PTFE-membrane construction.

Seal-material codes

S=silicone; V=fluoroelastomer; VT=PTFE-encapsulated; R=EPDM; Z=NBR

Filtration specifications

Filtration ratings

0.1 / 0.22 / 0.45 / 1.00 μm

Nominal length

10 / 20 / 30 / 40 in

Flow and pressure-loss selection

Assess flow and pressure loss for the specific rating, media and temperature; use curves only for the specifications they represent.

Operation & maintenance

Operating temperature

≤80 °C

Maximum forward element differential pressure

0.42 MPa at 25 °C

Maximum reverse element differential pressure

0.21 MPa at 25 °C

Sterilization reference

Sterilization reference: 121 ± 2 °C, 30 min per cycle with in-line steam or an autoclave; review cycle count, material compatibility and process validation for the selected model.

Connections & installation

End-fitting codes

A=222 single-open-end with solid end cap; B=222 single-open-end with spear end; C=226 single-open-end with spear end; D=double-open-end with PP gasket

Configuration & supply scope

Hydrophilic / hydrophobic type

E=hydrophilic; D=hydrophobic. Select for the fluid and review wetting and seal conditions.

Model and configuration notes

PTFET + hydrophilic/hydrophobic + rating + length + end fitting + seal

Length, end and seal codes are interpreted within the relevant series; the same letter may mean different things in another family.

Information to prepare for an inquiry

Use this family’s selection priorities to share available operating conditions, equipment information or drawings.

  • First identify liquid/gas duty and hydrophilic/hydrophobic version.
  • Check all wetted materials against process and cleaning fluids.
  • Validate rating, integrity and any sterile-filtration objective separately.

Operation & maintenance

Use version-specific wetting, venting and cleaning procedures. Confirm integrity requirements against the process and cartridge documentation.
