A practical checklist for a filtration inquiry
Describe the problem first, then share the operating conditions, installation constraints and document requirements you know.
Describe the fluid and the filtration target
Provide the liquid and major ingredients, contaminants and current problem. If a rating is specified, include its nominal or absolute basis so that the same number is not interpreted differently.
Include units and operating limits
Provide flow and units, normal and maximum pressure, allowable differential pressure and operating temperature. Include viscosity and solids information where relevant. Housing pressure rating is not the allowable differential pressure.
Use the documents you already have
Email existing drawings, connection standards, installation photos, quantities and required documents. Discuss inspection and material documentation during quotation so the available scope can be confirmed before ordering.
Applying these principles to your production line? Share the fluid, throughput, operating conditions and current equipment to discuss a filtration configuration.
